Use of the PONTiS tendon repair system for placement of an interposition graft in the emergency repair setting

Home / Videos / Use of the PONTiS tendon repair system for placement of an interposition graft in the emergency repair setting
  1. In an emergent situation a segment of tendon may be missing or so severely damaged that it needs to be resected. There are few options in this situation. The PONTiS system allows placement of an interposition graft due to the extremely high stiffness of the suture, suture attachment and crimp
  2. The cross lock is placed in the proximal tendon using the PONTiS 3-0 multi filament stainless steel suture as shown in video no 2
  3. A few epitendinous stitches are used to orient the graft and maintain the correct position
  4. Each strand of the multi filament suture is then threaded through the graft from one end to the other using a gliding stitch on both sides of the graft
  5. A cross lock is placed in the distal tendon stump and the crimp is then used to attach the distal graft to the distal tendon stump
